Life can be hard and messy. I have struggled as a single parent, been overwhelmed as a mom of a strong-willed child and felt uncertain as mom to a blended family.
But that is NOT my whole story.

A little bit about me…
In 2002, I began working as a court advocate at a local non-profit agency serving families struggling with domestic violence and sexual assault. It was there that I discovered I loved leading groups. For the last 15 years I have facilitated a variety of groups giving people the tools they need to create healthy relationships and better communication in their families.
With this blog, it is my genuine desire to give moms, just like you, the tools you need to parent your tweens and teens more confidently and care for yourself!
I am a city girl married to a country boy. He is an extrovert with big dreams and visions while I am an introvert who likes a basic plan to follow. He loves his tractors and cows and I am his reluctant cowgirl! And for some reason God thought it would be great fun to put us together! On the blog I will share some of my journey as I balance being married to a country boy and taking care of my family while pursuing my dreams on the side!
My faith in God is central to my life. I am truly thankful for how God is a gentle teacher and that He, through the gift of his son Jesus, can bring good out of even the hardest times in your life.
I feel truly blessed to be a mom. Being a parent is the hardest, most satisfying job that is out there. We have entered the strange new stage of semi-empty nesters! We have 3 children. One son moved out and is now married. Our second oldest just graduated college last spring and moved out. And we have one sweet daughter still at home.
I am a survivor of 3 heart attacks and was finally diagnosed with SCAD (Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection) in 2016.
I love to read and I mean I LOVE to read so I usually have a couple books going at a time. I love to watch old movies, especially around Christmas as they remind me of family who have passed on. I love to travel, so anything with Eiffel towers on it is great to me.
I love parades! And when everyone sings the National Anthem at ballgames.
Oh and I can bake, did I mention that? I have a serious sweet tooth.
So that is a little about me!
If you like a post be sure to leave a comment so I can get to know something about YOU!
Whatever season you are in, may you be encouraged as you take care of yourself for today and dream about tomorrow!
