Dear Friend: A Letter of Encouragement

May 10, 2017 By: Miranda11 Comments

Dear Friend,Flowers letter of encouragement

I wanted to send you a letter of encouragement, as I was thinking about you today. Life is really hard for you right now, but I don’t want you to lose hope.  My sweet friend, as you read my letter of encouragement may you feel strengthened and comforted.

Want to send an uplifting note to a friend? Read here on Tips on Writing an Encouraging Note.

My years as a single mom were so hard.  I remember each day being a struggle.  Some days I just tried to make it to bedtime.  As we talked last week, I could hear in your voice that same struggle.  But don’t give up.  You are going to make it through this troubling time you are in right now.  And there are so many wonderful days ahead for you! Please believe that!

I am so proud of you!

I want you to know how proud I am of you!  You have continued to take care of yourself and your obligations even as you are struggling.  You have not given up or just laid down hoping someone else will rescue you.

So many others in your circumstances run to try to find something to make the pain go away.  Often people in painful times rush to find a new relationship or drown their sorrow in addictive behaviors.

But you have been strong and avoided those pitfalls.  I remember, last year, when you did try to hide from your pain by choosing destructive actions.  But now, you have asked for help and support and are choosing something better for yourself.

Becoming healthier is a process.  So stop and take a look at how far you have come.  The road is long, but you have journeyed over so many mountains.  Rejoice in your victories! I couldn’t be prouder of you!!

…the books I sent in this letter of encouragement.flowers letter of encouragement

Did you receive the books I sent?  I know, I know. I’m always sending books:)  Books are such a great joy to me so in this letter of encouragement I want to give you some tools that might help you.  The little devotional Joy for the Journey: A Woman’s Book of Promises has been such a comfort to me.  I love how it is split into categories so if you need a word on a specific topic you can turn right to it.

Have you read the other book I sent, In the Meantime by Iyanla Vanzant?  Ms. Vanzant does such a wonderful job of gently prodding her reader onto something better.  I love how she encourages one to start living right now.  As I read her book, I realized that I still needed to grow a little.  I kinda laughed to myself how I was still living in “the basement” (you’ll have to read the book:) in some areas of my life!

I am praying for you.

Do try to take care of yourself.  Remember that you are so important to me, so make sure to be kind to yourself.  I believe that you will come through this season in your life stronger and all will be able to see how beautiful you are inside and out.

I am praying that you will find joy even in the middle of these heartbreaking times.

Your friend,

Miranda

Ahh…hope! There is always hope for growth as I reach out by faith in God to do the next right thing whether a nap, a walk or paying my bils.
Thank you for the reminder that our struggles forward are a process, often messy, but always significant.
Thank you for encouraging me today, Miranda:)

You’ve really outdone yourself with this letter! I love the conversational tone and how I can feel the concern and love you have for your friends. Of course, I already knew this, but this really brought tears to my eyes as I read it. Well, I may have rad it more than once:)
